I am Gandalf, and Gandalf means me!

Hobbit related theme again ;)

Okay, little bit cheating, this figure formally belongs to the Lord of the Rings series by wonderful Knightmodels. These people produce seriously amazing miniatures, with a richness in details which is truly outstanding.
It's metal 75 mm. scale. I cannot find the words to describe how pleasant is to find a well sculpted figure whose pieces set in perfectly. At this size the most common issue is that you have to invest hours fitting pieces and filling gaps with tons of greenstuff. But not this time. The miniature itself is actually superb.

I'm looking for someone to share in an adventure

So, the only tricky thing about this one is finding the correct greyscale to make the model look fine. Though looking easy, when you are used to 28 mm. scale, painting figures this size is a challenge as you have to pay more attention to details, specially shading and highlighting. This could make the difference between a good or a bad result. In addition, when almost all the chromatic variation is reduced to greys, the aspect of light on the model is much more relevant than it appears at first sight.
Unfortunately, in a figure like this one, with little focusing points to draw attention, the best thing anyone can say to you is that there's nothing that stands out. Sometimes a modest result is the best thing you can achieve to make the miniature work for good.

Okay, that's all for today. I can assure you, this is not the only mini by Knightmodels you will see over here ;)
Stay tuned!
