MIB: Marines in Black

It was time I got back to my Space Marines. I know I have some Squads to fill up, but the other day I remembered I had something I got some time ago. It was a bunch of 'Specialist marines', i.e., some Chaplains, Techmarines and Medics (or Apothecaries if you prefer). I felt in the mood for some black badass Marines, so... let's get some work on them!

In fact this has been quite a speedpaint job. I didn't want to spend that much time on these (I'll ellaborate this later...). But given the time I used, they are not that bad...

It's all about the attitude

These guys invented the Angry Marines Chapter

Skulls, skulls everywhere. They were here from the beginning...

Finally! A touch of colour!

He is also smiling inside the helmet

What says 'Chaplain' better than a banner of Death walking over a pile of skulls?

As you can see I'm keeping the beige weapons theme more or less, just like the rest of my army. No big deal, as the limited palette made this quite easy. Even the hand made banner was quite a quick job. I don't really know how the guys in GW came with the idea of Chaplains for the Space Marines and how they developed the concept of scaring guys in skull helmets, but well, they look like the deal, no messing with these!

They'll pray for your soul... after thay've taken your life

With these guys I really do have a Reclusiam for the Chapter. What possible use could I have for soo many Chaplains? The answer is that I found something else within the box when I opened it... Something that besides will explain why I was talking about the speedpainting... You'll get a glimpse just in a few days! ;)

  1. Great models. Love the older sculpts. I really like that hand painted banner as well. Looking forward to that mystery item.

    1. Thank you! I believe these have lots of charm (if 'charm' is the right word, hehehe). The banner was quite a last minute addition; the mini was the les 'Chaplainesque' with no Crozius Arcanum or whatever, just the bolter. I thought that a banner could be nice. Glad you like it!

    1. Thanks! They are nice minis. Though you can see they used common pieces for the molds, the variations are enough to make them look different. I love these.

    1. Thank you! The banner was quite a simple idea, a robed skull walking on skulls, pure GW!! :D
      Looking forward to see yours!

    1. Thanks! I'm afraid I don't, I got all these six in a row along with some Apothecaries and Techmarines, but no bikers. I got one some years ago, but unfortunately I was fool enough to let it go :(

    1. Thanks! The challenge was the size, the design itself is quite simple, just WH40K on paper :D
