What are you? Mice or men?

Another 'you didn't expect this' project :D
My friend Pablo (my usual gaming mate) got the 'Mice and Mystics' board game. You know, geek parenting is a heavy responsibility :D (That's the excuse we tend to say in order to buy this stuff...). Of course you know what comes next, no game is worth of that name until it gets fully painted!

The game is a dungeon crawler; I haven't read about the fluff, all I know about the story is that the main characters are humans turned into mice by way of evil magic and now they must face numerous perils in order to recover their original form.

The minis are simply cool. Easy to paint, with a mild cartoony style (at least compared to other products, I mean all the chibi stuff and so) and really enjoyable. A different set of minis for a change of mind.

Here you have the good guys:

The angle of the pic makes the tail look ankward... :S

The kind of mouse you use in lab experiments. Looked appropiate for a never ending maze with different challenges they have to beat

A ring on her neck, a 'you shall not pass attitude'... Hmmm...

Definitely not Mickey

I should have sculpted a pointy hat and painting him grey, so it would be Gandalf the mouse

What can a mouse say for a photo?

Well. 'Cheese!', of course!

You can see they are pure Mouse Guard love, though the backgrounds are totally different. Now here we have the bad guys.

In the best 'The great mouse detective' tradition, mice are good, rats are evil

The offspring of Ungoliant

Eeeek. Menacing and disgusting

Ehm, on a second thought, these are disgusting

The ugly family

No idea of when we will be able to get a game, but I'm curious about the system and the world of Mice and Mystics, so I hope it's anytime soon!

  1. Awww so cute. Nicely painted too. They resemble Robin Hood's merry men if you ask me. ^_^

    1. Haha, thanks! Yes, they are cute, aren't they? I didn't spend that much time on them, as I painted at irregular times between work travels, but I think they look good enough for gaming purposes :)
