Twin Titans

Sorry, no Halloween special over here, just regular updates (which is more than I can say lately, so I'm quite happy with that!). I've managed to expand my Legio (which begins to need a proper name!). I got two Reaver Titans on eBay:

Decent price for them among lots of eBay crazyness

I stripped them and begun the whole assembling & painting process from the beginning.

In the usual colours, you know

I'll save you the rest. As you can see, I used blue for the main body and some creamy white here and there for heads and weapons. This is the final result:

Hewey and Louie, looking for Dewey

I followed the path of the Imperator, so no gold at all, but black ornaments. That darkens the global view a little but not too much, I hope. I also used the white stripes on the shoulderpad to create a common theme with the Warlord, so they may look kind of similar.

The happy family so far

The names for these will be Venator Intrepidus ("Fearless Hunter") and Tonitrus Hastam ("Thunderspear"). For the Legio itself... What do you think about Legio Capitolina? Too mild? I kinda like it, sounds reminiscently classic. I think I'll take that for the moment as a provisional name until I come with something better. I may develop some background for this, hmmm.

Of course what I should get now is a couple of Warhounds. Classic models can be easily found at decent prices, but I really would like to spot some Lucius pattern Warhounds (i.e., modern ones), so they would look more like the Warlord and would make me have a more coherent Legio. Yes, by mixing patterns, I know, sounds just the opposite; but otherwise whay I would have is a Legio made of similar models and then just a single Titan totally out of place. I don't know, I may as well buying a mix of all Warhound models, only time will tell...

  1. The blue scheme looks better and better as you add models, I'm really liking the vibe of this group nd can't wiat to see more. I was just a few millimeters to starting Adpetus Titanicus back in the day, wish I had dived in now ^^.

    1. Thank you! My Titan part of the Epic project is currently experiencing some setbacks: I got a nice batch of several Titans on eBay, but the shipping company just messed things up and got the package lost, apparently. I'm claiming the stuff, but I'm not quite optimistic >:(
So for the moment I'll be continuing the project with some other stuff of yore I already have at home :D
Anyway, I still have to finish the Calgar vignette...

  3. Nice solid blues, I think the black over gold compliments the sculpts. A happy Titan family!

    1. Thanks! I thought the blue vs. black would work. I've seen lots of blue and gold/yellow, but the black gives them a different touch, I'm satisfied with the way that concept turned out.

  7. Nice work Suber. I rarely paint armour myself as I hate doing it with just a normal brush as I do not own an air brush. But I am tempted to do one in the future just for the sake of practising some freehand work on ... say ... a Chaos transport. Hmmmmm.....
