Project HeroQuest: End of Stage 2. Mercenaries

Another step in the long run! In order not to loose too much sanity, I need to totally switch projects from time to time (Or work on overlapping projects so I don't get stuck doing just the very same thing for months!)

I had these pending for a long time. It has taken some time to find all the minis and enough weapons to make this work. But I finally managed to delve into all my boxes, some of them lost for years. I gathered the twelve Mercenaries...

Driven by my enthusiasm, I totally forgot to take pics of the WIP. My bad

These were all the weapons I was able to find:

More than enough, but I think I have some extra swords or crossbows and I'm short of halberds and shields

As you can see, they are enough to take some adventure!

Ooops. Extra blurry pic... :(

I also found this other mini from the Advanced HeroQuest:

But now he's the leader of this Company

I used that colour combination for no particular reason, I just found it nice for the minis. That livery has a lot of tradition within both the Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 universes (Talabecland province and the Howling Griffons Space Marines Chapter, respectively) and I believe it works good for these.

With the Mercenaries I can declare closed Stage 2 of my HeroQuest project. I have re-painted all the original minis from the core game and expansions. At some point in the future I'll think of having a look at other companies' ranges; there are some really sweet options out there, in a perfect old school style. Some of them will become part of my HeroQuest. But that will be an issue for another day...

    1. Thanks! I'm currently out of home, but I'll try take a pic when I come back in a few days. It's a rampant lion. I painted it yellow on red; kinda Lannister, I guess, hehe (Or for that matter, that is actually the heraldic shield of the city of Zaragoza) :D
